FAQ’s

What is Powder Ombre?

Powder Ombre Brows is a semi-permanent makeup technique that uses a small machine to create a soft, powder-filled brow — similar to the look of makeup. The tails of the Brows are darker and fade into a soft, lighter front — creating a beautiful Ombre effect that looks soft and natural.

What is the difference between Powder Ombre and Microblading?

The main difference between Powder Ombre and Microblading is how the pigment is deposited into the skin. Microblading uses a handheld tool to make small slices in the skin where pigment is deposited. With Powder Ombre, a small machine is used to gently graze over the skin creating the “Powder-Like” application.

Overall, Powder Ombre is much less invasive, creating no scar tissue whatsoever.

How long does Powder Ombre last?

With the proper care, Powder Ombre Brows can last 2-3 years.

How long is the healing process?

On average, the healing process can last anywhere between 12-14 days in total. During the healing process, it’s detrimental to follow the After-Care instructions provided in order to ensure the best results.

How many sessions are required?

Powder Ombre is a two-step procedure.

After the initial session, there is a 6-8 Week Touch-Up required which is considered the “Perfecting Session.” During this session, we evaluate the healed results and address any of the areas of the Brows that may have healed lighter than others. This session will also lock the colour in to ensure longevity. We can also make small adjustments at this time.

Does the Powder Ombre procedure hurt?

Pain tolerance varies from person to person however Powder Ombre is quite a gentle procedure with little to no-pain. A topical numbing cream is also used to ensure clients are comfortable throughout the session.

Do I get to see how the Powder Ombre Brows will look on me before the procedure?

Yes!

Before we begin the actual procedure, we spend about 30-minutes mapping out your Eyebrows and building a mock-up of how they would look. During the mapping stage, we use many factors to build out your eyebrows including overall facial features, face structure, symmetry, etc. Upon approval by the client, we begin the actual application.

How long does the appointment take?

The initial Powder Ombre session takes about 2 - 2.5 hours. Touch-Up sessions take roughly 1 - 1.5 hours.

What do I need to know before my appointment?

Upon booking your appointment, you will be provided with a list of instructions on how to prepare for your appointment. To ensure you get the best results possible, it’s important to review these instructions prior to your appointment — then you’re all set!

How often do I need to come back for a touch up?

Each client retains the pigment in their Eyebrows differently. On average, I recommend my clients come in for a yearly Touch-Up to ensure the colour of your Eyebrows stay fresh and vibrant.

I have previous Permanent Makeup — can I still get Powder Ombre Brows?

In most cases, Yes!

If you have previous work done to your Eyebrows, the service would be considered a Correction. In most cases, if the previous work is faded enough — Powder Ombre would be applicable.

I do require clients with previous work to send over photos of their Eyebrows to confirm that they are a good candidate for Powder Ombre.
